Rasuwa’s sudden flood has triggered sharp selling in hydropower stocks on NEPSE after reports of damage to major hydropower projects and transmission infrastructure. Rasuwagadhi Hydropower (RHPL) led the decline, falling 13.84% to Rs. 208, followed by Chilime Hydropower (CHCL), down 10.33% to Rs. 426. Trishuli Jal Vidhyut (TVCL), Sanjen Hydropower (SJCL), Upper Mailung Khola (MMKJL), and Mailung Khola (MKJC) also recorded significant losses. However, the long-term impact remains uncertain until the actual extent of damage, restoration timeline, and financial consequences are assessed.
