NEPSE delivered a strong performance today, closing with a gain of 30.49 points and reaching 3001 points, crossing the significant 3000 benchmark after a steady rally. This upward momentum reflects rising investor optimism and growing market activity.
A total of 321 companies saw their shares traded, with more than 4.18 crore units of shares changing hands. The total transaction amount exceeded Rs 18.52 billion, showcasing one of the most active trading sessions in recent days.
Among the most actively traded stocks, Himalayan Distillery topped the chart with Rs 644.1 million worth of shares exchanged. Green Ventures followed closely behind with Rs 638.2 million, while Nepal Reinsurance and Himalayan Reinsurance recorded impressive turnovers of Rs 569.2 million and Rs 527.7 million respectively.
On the gaining side, Muktinath Krishi Company, Trade Tower Ltd., and Sanvi Energy stood out by hitting the daily positive circuit, each surging by 10%. NADEP Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha also showed strong growth with a 9.99% increase, drawing attention from investors focused on microfinance and agriculture-driven companies.
However, not all stocks shared the spotlight. Samata Gharelu Laghubitta emerged as the biggest loser of the day, witnessing a drop of 8.60%, possibly due to profit booking or weak investor sentiment.
Out of all traded companies, 176 saw their prices rise, while 74 experienced declines, indicating a predominantly bullish mood in the market.
With the NEPSE index now comfortably above the 3000 level, investors are eagerly eyeing upcoming corporate announcements and market trends that may shape future movements. The strong turnover and broad market participation suggest that the current rally may still have room to grow.
