Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) has delivered an outstanding financial performance for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2081/82, showcasing its position as a leading force in Nepal’s investment sector. With a net profit of NPR 125 crore, the trust achieved an impressive 13.71% increase compared to NPR 110 crore in the previous year. This growth highlights CIT’s ability to capitalize on market opportunities while maintaining a strong commitment to creating lasting value for its investors.
The trust’s total income rose to NPR 209 crore, reflecting a solid 8.96% increase from the prior year. This revenue growth is supported by a well-diversified income mix, including NPR 165 crore from service fees and commissions, NPR 33.74 crore from interest earnings, and NPR 10.64 crore from other sources. Such a balanced approach reduces dependency on any single income stream and strengthens the trust’s resilience amid market fluctuations.
CIT’s expense management also stands out as a key driver of its success. Despite expanding operations, the trust reduced its total expenses by 6.76%, from NPR 45.5 crore to NPR 42.42 crore. This demonstrates the management’s focus on operational efficiency and prudent allocation of resources to maximize profitability without compromising growth.
The trust’s investment portfolio is another testament to its strategic vision. With total investments amounting to NPR 2,890 crore, CIT has effectively balanced its asset allocation across various instruments, NPR 3,182 crore in institutional shares, NPR 2,638 crore in term loans, NPR 1,580 crore in fixed deposits, and NPR 272 crore in subsidiary companies. This diversified portfolio reflects sound risk management and a clear focus on optimizing returns.
CIT’s financial strength is further reinforced by a robust reserve fund of NPR 2,011 crore, complemented by NPR 615 crore in cash reserves and NPR 292 crore in current assets. These strong liquidity positions ensure operational flexibility and readiness to seize future investment opportunities. With earnings per share of NPR 19.34 and a net worth per share of NPR 164.23, CIT continues to set high standards in Nepal’s investment landscape, delivering consistent value to its stakeholders.
