Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited (NIFRA) has announced an extension to the application period for its ongoing bond issuance totaling NPR 5 billion. The initial deadline, which was set for Jestha 21, has been pushed to Jestha 22, 2082, following a public holiday observed on Jestha 18 that impacted regular banking operations.

The bond, titled “NIFRA Green Energy Bond 6%, 2088/89”, was launched on Jestha 18. It offers a fixed annual return of 6% and carries a seven-year maturity period. Each bond unit is priced at NPR 1,000, with a total of 5 million units available.

Of the total issuance, 40%—equivalent to 2 million units or NPR 2 billion—has been made available to the general public. The remaining 60% (3 million units, worth NPR 3 billion) will be privately placed. Additionally, 5% of the public portion—100,000 units—has been allocated for mutual fund investments.

Investors will receive interest payouts every six months, providing a steady income stream over the life of the bond. Applications can be submitted through banks and financial institutions participating in the C-ASBA system, including their branch offices. The minimum subscription is 25 units, while the maximum limit is set at 1 million units.

NIMB Ace Capital Limited is serving as the issue manager for this bond. NIFRA obtained the required approval from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) on Baisakh 30, paving the way for the launch of this sustainable investment vehicle.
