Nepal SBI Bank Strengthens Digital Presence by Joining NEPALPAY Card Network
Nepal SBI Bank partners with NCHL to join the NEPALPAY card network, enhancing its digital banking services with secure and locally managed payment solutions.

Nepal SBI Bank Ltd. (SBI) has taken a major leap in enhancing its domestic payment services by partnering with Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL) to become a principal member of the National Card Switch and Domestic Card Scheme, popularly known as the “NEPALPAY Card.” This strategic alliance empowers SBI to both issue and acquire NEPALPAY cards, boosting its digital banking portfolio and providing customers with more convenient, secure, and locally managed payment options.
The signing ceremony, attended by senior executives from both Nepal SBI Bank and NCHL, signifies a crucial step towards strengthening Nepal’s financial ecosystem by promoting homegrown digital payment infrastructure. This move aligns with the broader national vision to foster digital innovation, ensure data sovereignty, and reduce reliance on international card networks.
With a legacy spanning over three decades, Nepal SBI Bank continues to serve its customers through an extensive network of 100 branches and 125 ATMs nationwide, alongside a growing range of digital services. The integration of NEPALPAY card services will further enhance SBI’s commitment to delivering seamless and accessible banking solutions to Nepalese consumers.
This partnership not only reinforces SBI’s position as a key player in Nepal’s banking sector but also supports the country’s push towards a more self-reliant and secure digital payment landscape.
