Rapti Hydro & General Construction Limited has officially opened its rights share issuance starting today, offering investors the opportunity to purchase additional shares in the company on a 1:1 ratio. This means shareholders are entitled to one new share for every share they currently hold.

The company is issuing a total of 6,127,938 units of rights shares at a par value of NPR 100 per share, based on its current paid-up capital of approximately NPR 612.79 million.

Investors can apply for the rights shares through multiple channels. Physical applications can be submitted at Rapti Hydro’s corporate office in Tripureshwor, at Muktinath Capital in Naxal, or through selected branches of Muktinath Bikas Bank across key cities including Birtamode, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Narayangadh, Pokhara, Nepalgunj, Surkhet, Dhangadhi, and Mahendranagar. Additionally, investors can also apply online via the Meroshare platform provided by CDSC.

The last date to apply for the rights shares is Asar 22. Muktinath Capital Limited is serving as the issue manager for this offering.

To be eligible for the rights issue, investors had to own Rapti Hydro shares on or before Jestha 5, as the company’s book closure date was set for Jestha 6. This means only those who held shares up to that point are entitled to participate in the offer.

The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) had approved the rights issue on Baisakh 25, paving the way for today’s launch. With this rights offering, Rapti Hydro aims to strengthen its capital base and support future infrastructure and energy development projects.

This marks a significant move in the hydropower sector, as companies like Rapti Hydro continue to expand their financing avenues through the domestic capital market.
