In a significant development for Nepal’s microfinance sector, Swastik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited has received approval from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) to issue its Initial Public Offering (IPO). The regulatory green light was granted on Asar 5, allowing the company to move forward with its capital-raising plans.
The microfinance institution is set to issue 231,000 units of shares at a face value of NPR 100 per share, totaling NPR 23.1 million. The IPO will be made available to the general public, giving retail investors an opportunity to become shareholders in a growing financial institution focused on grassroots economic empowerment.
Nabil Investment Banking Limited has been appointed as the issue manager for the offering. The company will now proceed with the necessary processes to open the public subscription in accordance with SEBON’s guidelines.
Swastik Laghubitta’s move into the public market reflects the growing demand for financial inclusion services in Nepal’s rural and semi-urban areas. With its IPO, the company aims to bolster its capital base, expand its outreach, and strengthen its operational infrastructure.
As the IPO date approaches, investors are expected to keep a close eye on Swastik Laghubitta’s offering, which adds another promising name to Nepal’s microfinance landscape.
