Indian Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth held a courtesy meeting with Nepal’s Prime Minister and Defence Minister Balendra Shah at Singha Durbar, with discussions focused on bilateral relations and security concerns.

Indian Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth paid a courtesy call on Nepal’s Prime Minister and Defence Minister Balendra Shah at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Tuesday. During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, bilateral relations and security concerns between Nepal and India. Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava was also present at the meeting. General Seth arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday for a four-day official visit at the invitation of Nepal Army Chief General Ashok Raj Sigdel. As part of his visit, President Ram Chandra Paudel conferred the honorary rank of General of the Nepal Army on General Seth on Monday. Nepal and India have maintained a longstanding tradition since 1950 of conferring the honorary rank of General on each other’s army chiefs. General Seth had also held a bilateral meeting with General Sigdel at the Nepal Army Headquarters, Jangi Adda, on Monday. Following the completion of his four-day official visit, General Seth is scheduled to return to India on Wednesday.
