The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it will begin the preliminary screening of applications next week after removing duplicate submissions. The government had invited applications from qualified Nepali citizens on May 28 (Jestha 14, 2083 BS), publishing a seven-page guideline outlining the selection procedure. As the merit-based and transparent appointment process continues to draw public attention, the Supreme Court has sought a written response from the government regarding the ambassador appointment process, adding a legal dimension to the ongoing recruitment exercise.
