    Liquidity Management: NRB to Absorb Rs 120 Billion from Banking System Today

    Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced the absorption of Rs 120 billion from the financial system today, April 24, 2026. The central bank is utilizing its deposit collection instrument, with the bidding process scheduled for 3:00 PM this afternoon. This strategic intervention aims to stabilize market liquidity levels and maintain monetary balance. According to the central bank, commercial banks (Class 'A'), development banks (Class 'B'), and finance companies (Class 'C') are eligible to participate. Interested institutions can bid for a minimum of Rs 100 million, with the total amount being divisible by Rs 50 million. This particular instrument carries a 19-day maturity period, with the principal and interest payments scheduled for May 13 (Baisakh 30). Bidders have the flexibility to submit multiple bids at varying interest rates.
