    Cabinet Approves Forest Land for Four Hydropower Projects and Sanctions New Civil Service Rules!

    The Cabinet has made four major decisions, including clearing national forest land for multiple hydropower projects, greenlighting the 16th amendment to the Civil Service Rules, and forming a new ad-hoc committee for the Nepal Red Cross Society.

    Cabinet Approves Forest Land for Four Hydropower Projects and Sanctions New Civil Service Rules!

    During a meeting held at Singha Durbar on Tuesday, the Council of Ministers finalized four significant decisions, as shared by Government Spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel. In a major boost to the energy sector, the government officially approved the use of national forest areas for the development of four hydropower projects: the Lower Arun, Lower Nyadi Khola, Hunsar Khola, and Tadi Khola Hydropower Projects. Additionally, the Cabinet gave its nod to the 16th amendment of the Civil Service Rules, 2083. On the organizational front, the government decided to establish a nine-member ad-hoc committee for the Nepal Red Cross Society, to be chaired by Bishal Kumar Bhandari of Dolakha. Lastly, Minister Pokharel informed that the Cabinet has formally accepted the investigation report submitted by the committee formed to study and probe matters concerning former Home Minister and Member of Parliament, Sudan Gurung.
