Government Launches ‘Zero Pending File Campaign’

Nepal government starts a nationwide drive to clear pending files and speed up decision-making in public offices.

Government Launches ‘Zero Pending File Campaign’

The Government of Nepal has launched the ‘Zero Pending File Campaign’ from Monday to improve efficiency and reduce delays in public administration.

Under the initiative, officially titled “Zero Pending File Week,” all government offices are instructed to clear backlog files and ensure faster decision-making at the appropriate level instead of unnecessary escalation.

The campaign is guided by the “Guidelines for the Operation of the Zero Pending File Week Campaign, 2082,” issued by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

According to the rules, files pending for more than 3, 7, or 15 days will be automatically reviewed to improve accountability and prevent long delays.

The campaign will run until April 20 and is expected to improve governance, reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks, and make public service delivery more efficient across the country.
