NEPSE CEO Chudamani Chapagain Resigns Before Completing Tenure

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), Chudamani Chapagain, has resigned from his position before completing his tenure. According to sources, Chapagain submitted his resignation to the Ministry of Finance on Monday, citing personal reasons. However, the ministry has not disclosed the specific circumstances behind his decision. With his resignation, uncertainty has emerged over NEPSE's leadership. Until the government appoints a new CEO through an open and competitive selection process, the Ministry of Finance is expected to assign an interim chief from among NEPSE's senior officials. During his tenure, Chapagain initiated several efforts aimed at modernizing Nepal's capital market and enhancing its technology-driven operations. The leadership transition is being closely watched by investors, given NEPSE's key role in regulating and developing the country's stock market.
