Nepal's Ministry of Finance has published a report outlining its major accomplishments during the first 100 days of Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle's tenure, highlighting wide-ranging reforms aimed at strengthening governance, modernizing public services, improving the investment climate, and enhancing fiscal management. According to the ministry, key initiatives include amendments to financial laws, preparation of the budget and economic policy framework for the upcoming fiscal year, and a roadmap to simplify regulations affecting private businesses and large infrastructure projects. The government has also introduced measures to streamline public services, including online pension verification, expansion of digital tax services, and an increase in the income tax exemption threshold. On the governance front, authorities launched legal action in a major financial fraud case, accelerated digital transformation across government agencies, and advanced reforms of state-owned enterprises. The report also highlights the signing of several loan and grant agreements with development partners, strengthened cooperation with India on customs information sharing, and continued efforts to improve Nepal's compliance with international anti-money laundering standards to safeguard the country's global financial standing.
