Celebrity chef Santosh Shah has been released after furnishing bail equivalent to the total amount claimed in an ongoing banking offence case. Superintendent of Police Pawan Bhattarai, spokesperson for the Kathmandu District Police Range, confirmed that Shah was released on a recognizance bond after executing the financial bail requirements. "He has been released upon depositing the full claimed amount. While the investigation remains ongoing, he is legally bound to appear before authorities whenever summoned," SP Bhattarai stated. The arrest took place last Friday at Ramananda Chowk in Janakpurdham Sub-metropolitan City-8, Dhanusha, after the Kathmandu District Court issued an arrest warrant. Alongside the chef, 58-year-old Narayan Sah Sudi of Karjanha Municipality-9, Siraha, was also taken into custody and subsequently released under similar terms. The legal proceedings stem from a complaint filed by Shakuntala Adhikari (Thapa), who alleged that Shah defaulted on full payment obligations during the purchase acquisition of a restaurant located in Gairidhara, Kathmandu. Following the complaint, the co-accused were transferred to the capital, where formal investigations into the transaction dispute are still active.
