ICRA Nepal Reaffirms Nabil Bank’s Ratings, Removes ‘Negative Watch’

Nabil Bank's credit credibility receives a major boost as ICRA Nepal maintains its 'A' issuer rating and lifts the negative implication watch, signaling low credit risk and robust financial safety.

ICRA Nepal Reaffirms Nabil Bank’s Ratings, Removes ‘Negative Watch’

In a significant development for Nepal’s banking sector, ICRA Nepal Limited has reaffirmed the issuer rating of Nabil Bank Limited at [ICRANP-IR] A and its NPR 4 billion subordinated debenture rating at [ICRANP] LA. Crucially, the rating agency has completely removed both ratings from its "Watch with Negative Implications" status. This reaffirmation serves as a powerful indicator that Nabil Bank maintains an adequate degree of safety in meeting its financial obligations while carrying low credit risk. The rating upgrade out of the negative watch list reflects heightened institutional confidence in the bank’s overall creditworthiness, strengthening asset quality expectations, and fostering renewed trust among public shareholders and institutional investors alike.
