    Indian Railways to Overhaul Reservation System: Ticket Booking Capacity to Surge 5-Fold to 125,000 Per Minute

    Indian Railways is set to completely upgrade its passenger reservation system, boosting its ticket-processing capacity from 25,000 to 125,000 tickets per minute to eliminate website crashes and delays during peak booking hours.

    In a major technological leap aimed at transforming passenger convenience, Indian Railways is preparing for a complete overhaul of its Passenger Reservation System (PRS). The Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), during its 41st Foundation Day, announced that the upgraded booking infrastructure will be capable of processing a staggering 125,000 tickets per minute. This marks a massive five-fold increase from the current capacity of 25,000 tickets per minute.
