    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) benchmark index ended its losing streak with a minor single-digit gain of 1.63 points, closing just above the 2,700 threshold at 2,702.11.

    The benchmark NEPSE index showed signs of consolidation, bouncing back slightly with a marginal 1.63-point (0.06%) gain to close at 2,702.11, successfully defending the psychological 2,700 level. After experiencing a 5.06-point dip the previous day, the market opened at 2,711.47 and entered a volatile tug-of-war between bulls and bears. The index hit an intraday high of 2,712.45 before selling pressure dragged it to a low of 2,691.86, showing that investors are moving cautiously amid corporate and regulatory shifts. Liquidity remained modest as the day's total turnover wrapped up at Rs. 4.53 Arba, driven by the trading of over 10.92 million shares. Institutional debt captured major market attention, with Global IME Bank Limited Debenture 2086/87 (GBILD86/87) dominating the turnover board with a massive Rs. 31.98 Crores in transactions. Meanwhile, sector-wise performance was led by the Trading Index with a 0.75% gain, while the Mutual Fund sector lagged behind, slipping 0.49%.
