Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has officially determined and published its comprehensive foreign exchange reference rates for today, Monday, establishing the benchmark valuations for global, regional, and Gulf cooperation council currencies. Under the latest central bank update, the buying rate for one United States Dollar (USD) is locked at Rs. 150.74, while its corresponding retail selling rate is capped at Rs. 151.34. Prominent Western and European currencies maintain elevated baselines on the board, with the European Euro (EUR) priced at Rs. 171.60 for purchases and Rs. 172.29 for sales, while the UK Pound Sterling (GBP) stands at Rs. 199.01 buying and Rs. 199.81 selling, closely followed by the Swiss Franc (CHF) at Rs. 186.16 and Rs. 186.90, respectively. For regional trade, cross-border commerce, and bilateral agreements, the Indian Rupee (INR) remains tightly held at its conventional pegged value of Rs. 160.00 buying and Rs. 160.15 selling per 100 INR. High-value Gulf and Middle Eastern currencies continue to lead the maximum values on the ledger, topped by the Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD) with a selling ceiling of Rs. 491.52, alongside the Bahraini Dinar (BHD) at Rs. 401.43 and the Omani Rial (OMR) at Rs. 393.11. Other primary transaction and remittance-heavy denominations show the UAE Dirham (AED) selling at Rs. 41.20, the Qatari Riyal (QAR) at Rs. 41.56, and the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) at Rs. 37.03. In the East Asian economic corridor, the Chinese Yuan (CNY) is trading at a selling value of Rs. 22.26, while 10 Japanese Yen (JPY) can be transacted at a selling price of Rs. 9.36. The central bank emphasizes that these benchmark schedules are highly susceptible to real-time adjustments based on international macroeconomic indicators and market volatility, noting that individual commercial banks retain full operational flexibility to modify their retail trading counters from the baseline values displayed on the official NRB platform.
